Score:5, Offtopic

It's my blog. The name is a reference to a quirk in the Slashdot moderation system that allows a post to have a negative (in this case, offtopic) moderation, but be scored 5, the maximum positive score. Basically, there's no point to it, but it may be good. There'll be all sorts of computer crap in here...

Games that should be rated Adults Only

In response to Jack Thompson's maneuvers against "penises" and "labia" in games, I'm compiling a list of games with nudity modes available (with a mod or not):

City of Heroes
Publisher: NCsoft
Developer: Cryptic Studios
Current Rating: T
Suggested Rating: M
Reason: A glitch in the game allows one to view female characters' undergarments

Grand Theft Auto: Vice City
Publisher: Rockstar
Developer: Rockstar
Current Rating: M
Suggested Rating: AO
Reason: A mod is available to make females topless

Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas
Publisher: Rockstar
Developer: Rockstar
Original Rating: M
Current Rating: AO
Suggested Rating: AO
Reason: A mod is available to enable a hidden sex minigame. Therefore, the game was rerated AO. However, a new version of the game will be released that will not have this content that could corrupt our youth, and will be rated M once again.

Half Life 2
Publisher: Vivendi
Developer: Valve
Current Rating: M
Suggested Rating: AO
Reason: A mod is available to make Alyx nude

The Sims 2
Publisher: Electronic Arts
Developer: Maxis
Current Rating: T
Suggested Rating: AO
Reason: A mod is available to remove blurring and add genitalia to Sims while they are copulating

Tomb Raider
Publisher: Eidos
Developer: Core Design
Current Rating: T
Suggested Rating: AO
Reason: A mod is available to make Lara nude

Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3
Publisher: Activision
Developer: Neversoft
Current Rating: T
Suggested Rating: M
Reason: A glitch in the game allows one to see female characters' bras

Unreal Tournament 2004
Publisher: Atari
Developer: Epic Games
Current Rating: M
Suggested Rating: AO
Reason: A mod is available to make Tamika nude

World of Warcraft
Publisher: Blizzard
Developer: Blizzard
Current Rating: T
Suggested Rating: AO
Reason: A mod is available to make female night elves nude

I'm currently still looking for games with these modes. Please post in the comments if you know of any. I will update this post as needed.

In case you guys are lacking humor, this is an attempt to break the ESRB by getting every game rated AO.

Tomb Raider has endless nude patches for lara, and Grand theft auto 3 and Vice can be modified to include topless women

Not to mention all those skin patches for The Sims 1 and 2.

Cleaned up a double post and an offtopic post...

I'll get the Tomb Raider, GTA3, GTA:VC, and the Sims stuff in there. BTW, I knew about the Sims 2 stuff, because Jack Thompson is going after it...

There is a difference.. between offensive content that is already in the game and that which is added by a mod.

Game companies should not put immoral content in their games. Modders are equally as bad if they create "additional" immature or immoral content.

I KNOW that, #6. Did you not read the last sentence of the blog entry? I'm listing ones that have nude mods, too, because obviously, according to Jackass Thompson, even if a mod *added* the nude content (*cough*Sims 2*cough*), it should be rated AO. Realize that this whole thing is a JOKE, but I hope the ESRB actually DOES take it seriously, so that we can point and laugh.

#7, while Rockstar was wrong in lying about the content not being in their game, why is that such an issue that they did put it in? Of course, your use of the word "immoral" tells me that either you're joking along with me, or you've got a stick up your ass like Jack Thompson does.

If you're joking, use smilies in the future. That's what they're for.

If you're not, well, I'd rather not start a flamewar of epic proportions.

    Halo 2?
    You mean half life 2?
There's no Alyx in Halo 2.

Guys, this is great, keep it coming :)

Lets work together so that our kiddies don't see how people are made in games, just how to kill them again after they were made.

I think that nVidia should be rated AO because I saw a version of their dawn demo that had been modified to remove her clothes! nVidia even hid a landing strip under her clothes!

Tony Hawk Pro Skater 3 has a way to use a graphical glitch to see a female character's bra, I'd assume the other TH games do as well.

Let's not forget the well-known MMORPG: City of Heroes. Not only can you dress up female (and male) characters skimpily, but there is a graphical glitch in some female costumes that causes the costume to dissapear at a certain distance, revealing a bra and panties. Rate City of heroes AO. :>

And in world of warcraft, you can take off al the clothes of TEH H0T 3LFS! Hem hem. Yeah...

#12: nVidia's demos aren't games. Even if they were, they weren't submitted to the ESRB.

#13: If THPS3 is rated T, I'll suggest an M rating. If it's already rated M, it'll stay that way. It's only underwear.

#14: See my reply to #13.

    #15: OK, I'm adding WoW...

Dang, that is funny. I still recall a little mini-debate that took place one day in class back in Catholic school. Teacher said that violence is far worse than nudity. He had no problem with his kids seeing a little sex and/or skin in a movie, but he didn't want them seeing all the killing. His comments caused a bit of an uproar. To this day, I still don't understand why. I'm of the opinion that procreation is natural, but killing another human for fun is rather odd.

I'm an old man. Back in my day we didn't have video games. We had to sneak peaks at our fathers stacks of PlayBoy magazines or the bra ads in the Sears catalog (-:

and now we can just look in the walmart catalog. There is no point to this, if a game has a mod that someone else has created then it is not the original programming. Therefor the company should not be liable for the work of other people changing the gameplay. I bet theres a way to make mario nude in one of his games. If its not the original programming, and is a mod, it shouldn't be listed and or changed because some idiot decides to go around and mess up a game.

#20: My point exactly. I'm trying to get all games rated AO, so that people see the idiocy of Jack Thompson and Hillary Clinton.
